Wet weather

This is how our day has started...I watched the weathe report last night and it said rain, with possible sleet and snow just north of us...I woke up to RAIN and rolled over, turned the TV on before getting out of bed..in pure hopes of school cancellations....I refused to get out of bed until I heard the news.

I'm here. Wet...but here.

I have a few things in my mind. For starters....yesterday I got to thinking and reading ya'lls input. I will have the kids do a posterboard on the AAmerican I assign to them...and maybe singing videos (Mini American Idol) at the end of the week. I do want to do a collage of sorts outside my room. What I came up with last night **BRAINSTORMING*** was having my kids create a ladder....each step can represent a decade....One side of the ladder a musical note on top~ the other side a microphone~ Musical side decades of singers/songwriters...the other politicians and other voices of history like Oprah, and the 2 first african american football coaches going to the Superbowl this Sunday...

Your thoughts/Feedback on titles: "Voices of PROMINENCE", "Prominent Voices", Voices of Freedom, Voices of Leadership, Music and Politial Voices...."Climbing the ladder of success" What do you like? Or do you have other ideas???

Secondly, when I finally made it home yesterday, "A" had a message on my answering machine wanting to apologize about last week not working out. He asked if he could take me out to dinner one night this weekend. It was a very sweet message. It was nice to hear.

Thirdly, I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with Scott last night. He's a guy from the internet that lives in Virginia. We are going to try and meet in Chattanooga for the day on Saturday. It's about 3 1/2 hr drive for me and about 4 for him. I was going to get a hotel room (I still might). It would be an easier place for a first time meeting--IN THE LOBBY--get your mind outta the gutter. He seems like money is tight, so I said maybe we can just drive for the day...have lunch somewhere and no one feels obligated. I hate to drive that distance and not have somewhere to relax or freshen up...on the other hand hotels are wanting about 100-130 a night. Any other ideas??? We have a lot in common, I have seen pics~ he's ok. I think if it doesn't work it would be on my part...I have only seen 3 pics of him, he's seen 20 or 30 of me...He contacted me on line. He's 34 never married, christian, college educated, a guitar player, football fan..and like s CATS!!!! Ok ladies....and he drives a TRUCK. He has the sexiest southern drawl...plus he can FIX things!!! Wahooooooo I know I am seeting myself up for a disappointment.

How is it only WED??? Good Lord help me!
I want *IDEAS* from my blog readers. Feb is African AMerican month. I have to do some stuff in the classroom honoring AAmericans. I want my kids to research singers/songwriters...Louis Armstrong to Beyonce....How can I incorporate their research in a display besides a time line??? BE creative and send me your thoughts. They kids will be singing songs....Aretha, Commodores, Whitney, Otis Redding, Fats Domino, Supremes, etc... I was thinking of throwing in their family history....maybe tracing their hands and a collage ---HAnds of Freedom--??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? THINK AND SHARE PLUEZZZZSSSEEEE

Hail Hitler

I was at school til after 5:30 with two bitches. We had a faculty meeting and then a dept meeting, I am in the English depeartment. Well our school is attempting to approved as a Magnet. Some of the teachers have been to training not level one but One and Two...while others like myself haven't been to any trainings. Hitler as I call the bitch I used to work with (one year was enough) I moved to the other team in 6th grade. I've been on the other team for a few yrs now. THANK GOD. Well she is NOT deptartment head but seems to think she is QUEEN SHEBA...and wants to DICTATE. SO many people are afraid to step up and speak their mind to her....God help us...May she go somewhere else or may some foreign country ask her to lead them in despair, desolation and conformity. That is if SATAN doesn't get her first.

Ok did that tell you how my monday went???? I am going to take tylenol and kitty love to try and get some much needed sleep....

Oh hey, I found one of her pics on line! Didn't I describe her well???? See BG what you are missing in the work world??? Some people are totally cool that I work with...but Hitler now has an accomplice who refuses to conform and dropped out of the GIFTED certification (4 semesters or training to teach the *bright* kids) beacuse she didn't agree with some of the articles she read. I think she's a lesbian afraid to come out...imagine a red headed Rosie McDonald with a petite frame.

Ok so this is how my day ended....this is how I feel! As if I have been in battle. MEOW fucking MEOW!

GROWL

I think we all need this kind of LOVE*. I know I do!!!! Send some my way please.
I sooo don't do Mondays. THEY SUCK. I have meets all morning and afternoon...I gotta go to one now....
GRRRRRRRRR
I think I am going to pick myself up some fresh flowers after work today. They always make me feel better...I just gotta put them on a shelf high enough my oldest kitty Destiny won't try to eat them.

Saturday

I need some of this...that's my Saturday thought! Unfortunately I some telemarketer woke my ass up this morning. MEOW Today is Linda's birthday...She is my oldest friend...we go back to kindergarden. She's home with sniffles, it's raining and she doesn't have a beau to keep her company. I feel bad for her.

T just called and wanted to go out running the streets. He *FINALLY* bought his flat screen TV this morning. Now, he wants to find a stand for it.

I was going to stay in this weekend and CLEAN house. Good lord, do I need a maid. Unfortunately, I would rather have a lawn service....and until I pay for my floors...I can afford either.

Well My cell phone has been turned off. I finally checked it out and A my friend with benefits had tried to call 4 times this morning. HE was going to come over this evening for some fun...Unofrtunately, he can't (other POWERS---will prevent that) and he wanted to come here and spend the day. Well, of course I misses all the calls....and damn it I needed some TLC.

I swear again that Linda R song plays over in my head "when will I be Loved" in an emotional and physical sense. I FUCKING GIVE UP

Attitude

There once was a woman who woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?" So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and saw that she had only two hairs on her head. "H-M-M," she said, "I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?" So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head. "Well," she said, "today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail." So she did and she had a fun, fun day.The next day she woke up, looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head. "YEA!" she exclaimed, "I don't have to fix my hair today!"Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.Live simply,
Love generously,Care deeply,Speak kindly.......Leave everything to God.

I caught so much GRIEF yesterday about my boys losing. I am still sad today.

I am wishing spring break was around the corner instead of 3 months away!!! Ughhhhhh
I was digging up photos last night. I took some this weekend with Auntie and Tommy after the funeral. I thought I'd share....The others are OLD!!!!!!

SHe is my mom's sister. Tommy is the forever bachelor. It's a shame too cause he has such a good heart! He's depriving a gal out there. = ( He's like a big brother to me. Sweet as can be...we just don't have any chemistry.

I so miss my groupie days. God I had fun from 19-26. I enjoyed life and didn't have a care in the world except passing Calculus. Anybody recognize these guys????
These were taken in Biloxi...this group opened for Metallica......I bet Mick can figure it out.
Seeing these, I know how desperately I need to lose weight. Can someone just lock me up and feed me once a week????? Let me know.

"When will I be loved....."

I am completely feeling like this is me and going to be me FOREVER!
Today I had Angels brothers funeral to attend. I went with my aunt and T. I didn't know her brother well, but I know the family. Angel and I used to be really good friends~ We have drifted apart due to lots of factors. Well, the funeral put me in a somber mood to begin with. Once, I got there I saw a guy I dated for a little while with his wife. I hadn't seen him in at least 3 years. His mom, wife and he ended up sitting on the same row with us. I really liked him a few yrs ago, so this just (yuk) added to my mood.
T was in a suit and actually looked handsome. This is one of my best friends and I never *look* at him in a sexual light. We just have a great friendship. But I even started thinking, ummm I have a bachelor friend that isn't even interested in dating.
(Yes, I'm feeling like POOR me.)
The minister remarks and the whole death aspect, makes me re evaluate my own life and the special people I do have, like my family left. TELL SOMEONE YOU DON"T ALWAYS TELL YOU LOVE THEM!!!! It really can make a difference.
T and I went to the Market, my fav place in town...it was candle light and sunset....and sauteed okra with lobster tails in a white wine tomato sauce. Can I say YUM? We went shopping after dinner, I bought the new Eagles and Rascal Flatts (with "My WISH") cds. I am now home, outta the shower and still feeling blue. Seeing all the Valentine stuff out and worring about mom doesn't help. She's had her worst week yet after this 3rd round of chemo. She's really winded and feels a strain on her heart. I'm worried.

Bar stools

BAR Stools Sisters Mary Catherine, Maria Theresa, Katherine Marie, Rose Frances, & Mary Kathleen left the Convent on a trip to St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City and were sight-seeing on a Tuesday in July. It was hot and humid in town and their traditional garb was making them so uncomfortable, they decided to stop in at Patty McGuire's Pub for a cold soft drink. Patty had recently added special legs to his barstools, which were the talk of the fashionable Eastside neighborhood. All 5 Nuns sat up at the bar and were enjoying their Cokes when Monsignor Riley and Father McGinty entered the bar through the front door. They, too, came for a cold drink when they were shocked and almost fainted at what they saw.

Give us a sense of humor, Lord, Give us the grace to see a joke, To get some humor out of life, And pass it on to other folk.

Who Dat? (Nawlins term for Saints fans)

Just a few more days...Saints vs. Bears Sunday 2:00 eastern

Superbowl Bound!

To all my Saints lovers and Haters...............

Twas the night before WHO DAT.
> > > >Twas the night before WHO DAT when all through the south only screams could be heard from Tony Romo's mouth, The Saints played superior and it was not fair, A game that was perfect enough to frighten the Bears, The Cowboys were beaten and now are in the red While visions of Super Bowl danced in Benson's head, Payton in his visor, and Gibbs in his white cap Had just called a defense sure to produce a sack, when out on the field there arose such a clatter Fujita sprang from the bench to see what was the matter, Straight to the quarterback, Will Smith flew like a flash Right through the line and put Romo on
his ass!

The ball came out and what do ya know It ends up in the hands of number ninety-fo, Grant rumbled and stumbled into the End Zone To help came on Carney for a point of his own, A trip to the Super Bowl is better than a check from FEMA Finally everyone can try to forget Katrina!

Relocated, flooded, and put to shame The Saints have recovered and brought back WHO DAT fame, "It was Bush, and Colston, Horn, and Brees too And don't forget that boy Devery who played at LSU! The crowd came together with one big cheer from all. "WHO DAT SAY DEY GONNA BEAT DEM SAINTS"

> > >Now hand us that Tiffany silver football!

Calories to burn

Just sharing one of the emails I got recently.
I wanna know what magazines my blog buddies subscribe too and how well they enjoy them. Currently, I take Readers Digest and from a Christmas gift soon to be Playgirl. (I hear the articles are worth looking at = P )and I take Progressive farmer. Am I eclectic or what??? I am wanting to add another good read so send me your suggestions. I used to take Cosmo, Cooking Light and Country.

The Coolest Way to Burn A Coke that burns calories?
You're not dreaming -- we'd pinch you if we could. Coca-Cola's new, sparkling beverage, Enviga -- featuring Nestea green tea -- hits markets this month with the promise of burning 60 to 100 calories with three 12-ounce servings, as borne out in scientific studies. At only five calories a can, that's a dream exchange. Marketed as "the calorie burner," Enviga contains 20 percent of recommended daily calcium and a special green tea antioxidant, EGCG, that partners with your body and the drink's caffeine to shift your metabolism into power mode. Available in green tea, berry and peach, Enviga pulls off the neat trick of helping you chill while you burn.

Not sure if this is true, but it may be worth a shot????

music

Question: one of my students was asking me about groups whose lead singers were also their drummers. The Eagles and Genesis come to mind...Kiss when Peter Criss did "Beth", but no others come to mind.

Send me who comes to mind for you~~~~ Scroll down and put it on the next post please...

~dusting~

Hey ya'll. I had the day off thank you MLK. I managed to clean house and then be lazy. Mom had round 3 of chemo today. I was worrying about her today. Sadly, tomorrow is her birthday. She made it home, I just talked to her. IT looks like surgery will be late Feb or early March. The tumor has decreased some in size according to her doc today. Thank you for all of your prayers. They are appreciated and still needed!

Getting Suckered at the Store

We know you're always grocery shopping on a full stomach to avoid charging your way through the candy aisle. But remember to prime your brain as much as your belly -- reading between the lines of the signs. Studies on "suggestive signage" have found that promotional numbers, like "3 for $3" or "Buy 10 for your freezer," can tempt you to shell out twice as much money as you planned. To beat 'em at their own game, write your purchase amounts on your shopping lists and stick to it, says food psychologist Brian Wansink. Don't let the vendors' numbers coax you into buying more than you need. That way, you're less likely to stare down a shelf's worth of temptation.

I'm just feeling gloomy today. I guess we all have our days.
It's only monday evening and tomorrow is only Tuesday. I want a few days off. Seriously, not sure what I will do with them but I need the "escape".... It doesn't help that I am feeling hormonal this week. God be with me.
