This is me today. I have a headache...I am sleep deprived and my students are crazy as hell today. We have 15 more days together. I am ready and they are even more ready.
I need some down time. I need some quiet time. I need 8 solid hours of sleep. We got our bedroom set which we are both pleased with...but the 1800 mattress is too soft for both of us. We went to the furniture store yesterday and he said he'd swap it. It's got a latex memory foam that fits to your body....but it's just too soft for long term sleep.
I have lost a co worker due to violence in her home. She will not be back this year. I am sorry to say and I doubt she'll be back next year.
Send me calm soothing vibes with another paycheck.
Many Thanks.
Oh..and hell NO I would not vote for ..."HALF HONKEY---ALL DONKEY" O'bama.

I am wishing it was Friday! Meow Meow Meow

R called tonight I swear we can talk about lots of stuff.....and it is never a 20 minute convo...

I am taking my antibiotics..and right now feeling kinda drowsy. I need to go crash.

If you could have 5 things right now what would they be??????

  1. Explosive, butterflies in your stomach, true, faithful love
  2. Have my closest friends near me
  3. lots of money to pay the bills and to shop with!
  4. The Saints WIN the Superbowl
  5. Ronnie Dunn at my discretion to sing to me and only me whenever I want him too!

See ya'll, I don't want much!!

My random thoughts today:

Feeling funky.

I didn't sleep real well last night.

You have just entered my own pity party.

I'm single.

I spent my whole paycheck for the month and then some = (

I feel alone.

I'm fat.
I'm tired.

Yes, it's me. See how the sun is affecting me and my tired butt! OMG can I scream about how miserable it is outside. I walk out of my house and feel as though I have stepped into a free SAUNA without the positive perks you would find at a Spa. Why aren't I melting all of this fat off of me????

I had dinner with a friend and scheduled dinner with a few other friends for her Birthday on Thursday. I got her a gift certificate for a facial with my favorite girl. She is in desperate need.

10 more days and I get Ronnie Dunn, Kix Brooks and Alan Jackson singing to me, Yeahhhh, if only it was at an inside venue. You know I am crazy about this man to stand outside for 2 1/2 hours and hear him sing ....well, at least my face will be well hydrated as the drool rolls down my chin. (Yep, I still have a sixth grader hiding inside of me). You have to leave me to dream, I am after all SINGLE.

Do you think if I went naked , I could get people to leave around me(they would run in horror) and I'd be less of a sweat machine? Just a random thought.

OK your task for the day is to come up with three adjectives to describe ME.

Then you have to come up with 3 adjectives to describe my blog.

It is now 12:30 a.m. and my alarm will be going off in 7 hours....I will cry when it does. Send me sound sleep with happy dreams. Thank you!
May your Hump day be an EASY ride = p

I was smart when I came to school and moved what I needed too! I also did some decorating, so I am not feeling the crunch that so many others are feeling. I am some what on target. Don;t get me wrong, I still have a few places to decorate and paperwork to get together.

LADIES a COSMETIC question:
Do you have one super secret that you have to make you more beautiful? Hair, makeup, jewels, nails, skin.......
My best secret, a girl at a pharmacy told me was to heat your eyelash curler with a lighter after you have put your mascara on and then curl...(careful not to burn your lid, and let your mascara dry for just a minute before curling) but I hold it for a minute or two and my lashes are vibrant!
So what kinda info can you share?????
I have orientation tonight *meow*. So I will be back at school at 7.......however, I have dinner plans with a co worker and gotta run home and change....
It is predicted to be 102 degrees today. Will the heat MELT away some of my pounds away???

If you were going to be stuck on a deserted island for two years, what 3 celebrities would you choose to have with you and why?

Sunday, March 25, 2007

Yes, this is how I am feeling. I got just a few things accomplished!! Yeah Me!!!

I managed to find and buy all the right bulbs...vanity, garage, outside flood lights....Wahoooo. I carried an managed to change w/o falling and busting my butt the flood lights on the side of my house---they are above my fence and on a sloping hill. Trust me this was a FEAT!

I went and bought a new bath fat to match the expensive Croscill shower curtain I hung up. I also found Fleur De Lis hand towels on sale at Bed Bath and Beyond/ I did dishes, laundry and changed my sheets. I went shopping and found the perfect not to big not to small basket to put next to my lazy Boy for mail, I'm not quite ready to throw away yet.

Friday after work, I spent 2 hours at one of my students houses. I was waiting on mom and then had a 90 minute convo with mom. Then I met Laurel (my new girlfriend-from Dillards) at a local mexican place, we had SEVERAL drinks and ventured off to the "fun" store here... = P

Sat, I slept til noon (yeah). I eventually made it out to get kitty food and had dinner with T. He took me to a new catfish place. We were not impressed. After dinner, I came home and Greg came over. We watched a movie. He got in the hot tub. It was just TOO hot for me...It's 80 something here. I have my AC running full blast. I HATE to be hot.

Sun I managed to get out an go to the new T J Maxx, Bed Bath and Beyond, Lowes and Red Lobster for lunch. I had coconut shrimp and those INCREDIBLE cheese biscuits. Can I say YUM?

Ok....Let me go cook something for the week...and try to straighten up my living room...and attempt to find my W-2 YIKES. I need a manicure...but I drove by the place I like and women were waiting....I came home and carried my TALL ladder all around.

I AM WOMAN HERE ME ROAR!

I hate mornings. This is me every morning this week when the alarm sounds....I cover my head and attempt to dream that I can stay home.
KITTY POWER!!!
TGIF! A dear friend of mine an ex coworker used to send me TGIF emails on Thursday nights, so I had something to squeal about each Friday morning. I miss those~
I haven't decided what exactly I plan to do this weekend besides pay bills, do laundry, replace wallflowers (bath & body works), hang a new expensive shower curtain and make a list of things I need to/want to do during spring break. I need to go to Ft. Benning and shop. I need to make a dental appointment. I want to take a trip~ I was planning Savannah...not so sure right now. I need to find a new credit card with an interest rate lower than 9.9%. My lowest 3.9% now is moving on up to 9.9% in 3 weeks. I need to keep my happy ass at home and clean out my master bedroom closet and donate clothes. I need to replace light bulbs in my garage and my motion lights on the side of the house. I want to plant another red maple, because the one i put in the ground 2 yrs ago hasn't done anything. I think it's dwarf. One of my neighbors has the prettiest red tulips blooming right now. They are gorgeous! I also need to find a reliable yard company with CHEAP prices.
Today FRIDAY, I am thankful that it is FRIDAY and that I have 3 wonderful kitties that love me.
Have a great weekend.

Abandoned and lack luster

Well, I had an eventful weekend. (NOT)

Friday night I went out to a local steak house with T. It was good! I had some grilled veggies that were just YUMMY! Then we went to the mall to look for HIGH thread count sateen sheets that did not cost 140 bucks. I found at West Point Stevens a top sheet 600 thread count AMAZING. Unfortunately, no bottom sheet to match *sigh*. I finally found a match to it at BEd Bath & Beyond...but they wanted 39 for it. Well, I found some 800 thread count at West Point----they wanted 99, in an Ecru color. I can't get them out of my mind , I may go back for them after work today.

Sat, I was supposed to have a hair appointment. I get there wait 15 minutes, Rodneys daughter who gives INCREDIBLE head massages as she washes your hair--(I'd go back just for those hands on my scalp) He called in with a migraine. They called but I wasn't home....2 hrs before the appt. MEOW I rescheduled for Wed after work.

Sat afternoon, I ran a few errands then went home and took a nap. For me to nap , I am TIRED! I woke up to go look at DVRs with T. A was planning to come over later....I ran out of the house with my purse and the garbage....into my garage mind you--LOCKING MYSELF out of my house in the process. My car keys and my other keys were in there. T came and rescued me and drove me to my aunts house to get a spare key..... Thank god I had not wandered out in the garage in my undies like I normally do for garbage take out.

I called A and the eve was shot as far as I was concerned. Oh well.

Last night, 9:30 my doorbell rings. I freak. I am in the process of combing knots out of my hair with a tea tree oil (green mask) on my face. I peaked and peaked---but none of my outseide lights were on, so I couldn't see til they drove off . It was Greg. Hello we have had one convo on line in 6 weeks and he wants to show up at my house unannounced at 9 p.m. He emailed and said he really wanted to see me and could we talk. I have decided what I am going to do yet.
Any thoughts?????

I miss SATC

What is a friend? I will tell you it is someone with whom you dare to be yourself.
-- Frank Crane
A friend is one who knows us, but loves us anyway.
-- Fr. Jerome Cummings

Then come the wild weather, come sleet or come snow, we will stand by each other, however it blow.
-- Simon Dach

A man's friendships are one of the best measures of his worth.
-- Charles Darwin

Why is it once people are in relationships, they feel like they have only one person thay can focus on?

Society should be recognizing the need for women in their 30's to maintain a close network of friends. Sex & the City was such a tremendous hit because it touched a cord in women's need for bonding on an emotional level. I can't tell you how much my life has changed since I moved to Ga. My close network of friends in La have all drifted (some out of state after the hurricane)...they have made new daily friends and here I just haven't made the *connection* necessary to have a true (call anytime without hesitation, someone who can finish my sentences, and calls me when one of our favorite stores is having a sale that can't be missed).....I miss having a great single friend....I have a guy friend here I am close too, but he's not the emotional type. He's great for companionship, but not for the rough time emotionally I am dealing with right now. My gay bud has a new man and is *in LOVE* for the first time in his/their life. So he's ALL about him. I understand that but here i go "'WHAT ABOUT ME?"

I just feel so damn much pressure from society (lots I put on myself) about not being married at my age....I do have everything I want (within reason---a house, a car, 401k, 3 awesome cats, both of my parents are still alive, and a sister (we don't talk much these days).

I just feel really lonely and sense of helplessness when it comes to mom's condition, having all of my friends going in different directions....every road they can take except the one that leads to me.

Vic and Nat

This is for my city..I am NOT AT ALL a Brad fan. COnfused why so many ladies think he's soooo hot (not).

GOSSIP: Brad and Angelina to star in “Vic and Nat’ly: The Movie”
Item!
Brad Pitt’s announcement of the winner of a Katrina-reconstruction design competition was hijacked by the revelation of his newest film project: “Vic ‘n Nat’ly: The Movie.”

Pitt and his real-life wife, Angelina Jolie, will star as the classic New Orleans cartoon characters brought to life on the big screen.
Acclaimed helmer Steven Soderbergh (“Erin Brockovich,” “Ocean’s 11”) will direct the script, adapted from the Bunny Matthews cartoons by legendary screenwriter Robert Towne (“Chinatown,” “Mission: Impossible”).
According to industry whispers, the story will center on Vic and Nat’ly’s departure from the 9th Ward and eventually settling on the Northshore.
Matt Damon and Ben Affleck have already signed on to play Rocky and Carlo. Julia Roberts will play Angela Hill. George Clooney is even rumored to have a cameo as a Hubig’s Pie delivery man.
The project is the latest adaptation of Vic and Nat’ly by creator Bunny Matthews. His Vic ‘n Natly-themed restaurant opened in Covington in July.
Preproduction on the film will start in November with shooting scheduled to take place in January and February.
“Vic and Nat’ly are classic New Orleans characters,” Pitt said. “Angelina and I simply hope to do them justice.”
Asked by this reporter to do his best Ninth Ward accent, Pitt replied: “I’m gonna be needin’ a dialect coach, dawlin’.”
No word yet, dear readers, on how to apply for that job.

SMELLS

Well..I feel a bit more relaxed today. It may have something to do with the fact I treated myself to a massage and a facial this afternoon. I needed to de-stress. I came home a lit Pineapple Paradise a few of them in the house. It was one of my favorite scents that Yankee Candle used to put out. Well, they stopped over a year ago...but I kept a few on hand for special occassions. I went thru mail, cleaned out my wallet (all of my receipts from home---I love to spend money). I felt guilty...when I called and got my credit card balance. YIKES.

My oldest friend Linda wants to come see me this weekend from La. Well, she wants to go out and prowl for men. I'm not sure I am up for the company. I told her I'd let her know tomorrow. I have enjoyed this day to ME. I need another one or two, hell even three before I go back to work. She's who I went out with in the Quarter---both of our moms are dealing with BC. But her mom is a year in to it.

K...going to bed~ curling up with Estee Lauder Day wear (new moisturizer, I LOVE)...after I all I do smell good. I used my Bath and Body caramel body wash and their Vanilla body lotion...I hope to snuggle up to Harmony and drift blissfully into a DEEP much needed SOUND sleep.
May you all have dreams of cute men...and for Mick, may your dreams be of cute gals!

The year is 1906. One hundred years ago. What a difference a century makes ! Here are some of the U.S. statistics for the Year 1906
************************************
The average life expectancy in the U.S. was 47

A three-minute call from Denver
to New York City
cost eleven dollars.

There were only 8,000 cars in the U.S. ,
and only 144 miles
of paved roads.

The maximum speed limit in most cities was 10 mph.
Alabama, Mississippi , Iowa , and Tennessee
were each more
heavily populated than California .

With a mere 1.4 million people,
California was only the 21st
most populous state in the Union .

The tallest structure in the world was the Eiffel Tower !

The average wage in the US . was 22 cents per hour.

The average U.S. worker made between $200 and $400 per year .

A competent accountant could expect to earn $2000 per year, a dentist $2,500 per year,
a veterinarian between $1,500
and $4,000 per year,
and a mechanical engineer about $5,000 per year.

More than 95 percent of all births in the U.S. took place at HOME.

Ninety percent of all U.S. doctors
had
NO COLLEGE EDUCATION !
Instead,
they attended so-called medical schools,
many of which were condemned in the press
AND
the government
as "sub-standard."

Sugar cost four cents a pound.

Eggs were fourteen cents a dozen.

Coffee was fifteen cents a pound.

Most women only washed their hair
once a month,
and used borax
or egg yolks for shampoo. (EE-EWW)

Canada passed a law that prohibited poor people from
entering into their country for any reason.

The Five leading causes of death in the U.S. were:
1. Pneumonia and influenza 2. Tuberculosis 3. Diarrhea 4. Heart disease 5. Stroke
The American flag had 45 stars. Arizona , Oklahoma , New Mexico , Hawaii , and
Alaska hadn't been admitted to the Union yet.
The population of Las Vegas , Nevada , was only 30 !!!!
Crossword puzzles,
canned beer,
and ice tea
hadn't been invented yet.

There was no Mother's Day
or Father's Day.

Two out of every 10 U.S. adults couldn't read or write.

Only 6 percent of all Americans had graduated from high school.

Marijuana, heroin, and morphine
were all available over
the counter
at the local corner drugstores.
Pharmacists said,
"Heroin clears the complexion, > gives buoyancy to the mind,
regulates the stomach and bowels,
and is, in fact,
a perfect guardian of health."
( Shocking ? )

Eighteen percent of households in the U.S.
had at least one full-time servant or domestic help.
There were about 230 reported murders
in the ENTIRE U.S.A. !

Now having read this
try to imagine what it may be like
in another 100 years.
